Philip J. Carmody
Senior Vice President, Head of Responsible Investments
Philip J. Carmody serves as Senior Vice President and Head of Responsible Investments for GID. Mr. Carmody is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance principles into GID’s verticals and assists with developing the firm’s responsible investment strategies and measuring its progress against various industry benchmarks.
Prior to joining GID, Mr. Carmody worked in corporate real estate for the Royal Bank of Scotland and their wholly-owned subsidiary, Citizens Bank, in both Edinburgh and Providence. Mr. Carmody has also held duties with GID in portfolio and asset management.
Mr. Carmody received a BSc in Real Estate from the University of Reading, England, and an MBA from UMass Boston. Additionally, Mr. Carmody has received a Master of Corporate Real Estate designation from CoreNet Global and is qualified as a Chartered Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.¹
- The MRICS® designation is an international professional certification offered by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. To attain the MRCIS designation and become a chartered surveyor, candidates must complete an RICS-accredited degree, complete 24 months of structured training and pass the Assessment of Professional Competence. To maintain the MRICS designation, members must complete 20 hours of Continuing Professional Development annually and adhere to the RICS Rules of Conduct.
