Vice President, Construction

Elias Slaiby is a Vice President of Construction with GID Development Group. He currently oversees the construction of two luxury urban high-rise residential towers exceeding 1 million square feet in Upper West Manhattan New York. His areas of responsibility include the execution of the development, the implementation of cost management, directing and managing the construction manager, contract negotiation, permitting, and scheduling.

Mr. Slaiby has over 15 years of experience in all levels of the construction industry. He has worked with some of the nation’s high profile developers on complex and innovative mixed-use projects from suburban shopping centers to urban mixed-use complexes.

Prior to joining GID, Elias Slaiby was a Vice President of Construction and Design Development with Forest City Ratner where he led the construction of two high-rise residential towers in Pacific Park Brooklyn, a mixed-use neighborhood including 14 new residential buildings, one million square feet of commercial space, Barclays Center arena and eight landscaped acres of publicly accessible open space.

Elias was a director of Construction for Acadia Realty Trust, a real estate developer focused on urban retail. During his ten years with the company he worked on City Point, a 1.2 million sf mixed use development in Downtown Brooklyn; Canarsie Plaza Brooklyn and Pelham Manor Shopping Plaza totaling six hundred thousand square feet of retail and office with 17 acre site each; Brandywine Town Center in Wilmington, DE, a one million square feet mall conversion into a shopping center including its retail and office fit outs, storage facilities along with several other developments.

Prior to Acadia, he worked for RCDolner Construction where he was an estimator and assistant project manager for Columbia University and Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Elias started his career with Davis Langdon International, a chartered quantity surveyors and cost control consultants where he was involved with the construction of SOLIDERE, the redevelopment of Downtown Beirut Lebanon, the largest construction project in the Middle East in the nineties.

Mr. Slaiby has an MS in Real Estate Finance from New York University. He holds a BS in Civil and Structural Engineering from University Saint Joseph, Beirut Lebanon. He has a Construction Safety Manager’s license. He is also a LEED Green Associate.
